![]() I doubt a guitar in this condition would go for more than a couple hundred dollars, if that. The serial number places the guitar at around 1897. ![]() I don't really know the price points for stuff like this. The numeral 1 in the style number represents the size, standard size. This guitar is somewhat larger than the usual Ladies size, but of beautiful proportions and a very elegant model. It is the popular style is a great favorite as a ladys instrument. There are a TON of scratches and a couple cracks that have been glued. I believe it has a spruce top, from what I have read. Maybe some of you can tell by the photos. I couldn't care less that it isn't in great condition it's a gem, and it's old, and I love it. It's amazing to me that it was probably built before my 91-year-old grandpa was born, at the time of the very earliest recordings. It sounds decent, but it's quite difficult to play like a normal guitar. The action is REALLY high and is practically impossible to adjust due to the inflexibility of the bridge. It actually comes with a small metal piece that fits at the top of the neck that increases the action by a good 1/8th of an inch more. Clearly it was meant to be played with a slide, but I have hardly any skill with a slide.
